The National Development Agency (NDA) of Libya has signed a contract with the Turkish company DEHA TECH for the implementation of the Sirte Fuel Storage Depot Project.
Signing the contract for the Sirte Fuel Depot project within the strategic projects
The Director General of the National Agency for Development, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Ferjani, signed the contract for the implementation of the Sirte Fuel Depot project, as part of the package of strategic projects announced by the Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu al-Qasim Haftar, last week, within the framework of a vision aimed at enhancing energy security, developing infrastructure and addressing service challenges across the country.
The project, which was signed in the presence of the Minister of Industry in the Libyan government, Mohammed Al-Saidi, is one of the largest projects in the fuel sector in Libya, and aims to provide a radical and sustainable solution to the fuel crisis in the central and southern regions, by establishing a modern warehouse that contributes to raising storage capacities and securing a strategic reserve of fuel, in a way that alleviates the suffering of citizens, reduces the recurring shortage and congestion crises at gas stations, and supports transportation and economic, commercial and service activity.
The project includes the establishment of modern warehouses for the storage of gasoline and diesel with international standards, in addition to an integrated system for receiving, storing, pumping and distributing, in accordance with the approved technical specifications. The gasoline and diesel depots are scheduled to be completed within 12 months, and the project will be completed in all its components within a period not exceeding 14 months.
This project comes as an extension of the approach of the National Agency for Development in implementing strategic projects that have a direct impact on the lives of citizens, in a way that enhances energy security, raises the efficiency of infrastructure, supports sustainable development efforts, and dedicates the city of Sirte as a pivotal logistics center to serve the various regions of Libya.
